If it were up to those senators we would only have import cars. The US might make them but we would not reap anything from owning the companies. Meaning that they might pull out at any time if they feel that it is cheaper elsewhere. So, what can we do with our own automakers. One thing we can do is if they want to get help with loans. They could be asked to bring work back to the United States from overseas. This would help people out with their jobs. Also we could exercise more of an import tax. While doing such it would make having a US made car like having a BMW and or a Mercedes here. Something exquisidnaire and so on. I think that would make cars worth more while here at home more affordable. While people are not making more yet the cost of living is going up we need things that we can afford. A car is one of them.
